Description

Introducing the Dry Sapphire Selvage: a 15 oz. pure indigo-dyed denim with a distinctive red cast, crafted exclusively for The Jean Maker by a renowned Japanese selvage denim expert. This denim emulates the characteristics of 1940s–50s loom-state denim and is sanforized to limit shrinkage to just 3%. In honoring its historical roots, the singeing process was omitted, preserving the unique yarn-slub texture and a slightly fuzzy surface.

The term "Sapphire" alludes to the subtle reddish tint subtly embedded within the fabric. Though this hint of red isn't immediately visible in its dry state, it patiently awaits to reveal itself over time.

Transitioning from a dry state to a well-worn piece is a rewarding journey. Throughout this process, the jeans and their wearer engage in a magnificent dance of transformation. As time passes and the indigo gradually fades, the fabric’s intricate texture and array of captivating hues emerge, resulting in a truly distinctive, one-of-a-kind rendition of the jeans.
