    Description

Introducing our latest addition: a 15 oz. black selvage denim, expertly crafted by the renowned Italian mill, Candiani. This tightly woven denim is made from ring-spun warp and weft yarns, featuring a perfect blend of yarn slub and twist. This unique composition gives the fabric its distinct character in its raw state, which deepens into a rich tapestry of highs and lows with each wash.

Notably, the weft—the yarn visible on the inside—is treated with a special indanthrene black sulphur dye, ensuring superior colour retention even after extensive wear and washing, earning it the "stay-black" designation. In contrast, the warp is dyed with regular sulphur, which selectively saturates the surface yarns. This intentional dyeing process causes the black hue to fade more quickly, creating a dynamic contrast over time.

The result? A pair of black selvage jeans that showcase striking, high-contrast fades, thanks to the indanthrene-dyed weft. To enhance the texture and impart a subtle black tone, these jeans have been treated with a gentle rinse.

Given their tendency to fade quickly, we recommend handling these jeans with care during washing to avoid friction issues commonly associated with machine washing. It's advisable to wear them for an initial six months before the first wash. When washing is necessary, choose a delicate rinse rather than a full wash to minimise unwanted effects. If you prefer machine washing, use a gentle cycle with low spin and remove the jeans promptly. Dampening the denim before washing can help soften the fabric and reduce potential issues.
