These jeans are made from durable 14.2 oz redcast selvage denim, meticulously woven by Shinya Mills in Okayama, Japan. The warp yarns are dyed 20 times in pure indigo, achieving a rich, redcast hue. Naturally slubby yarns, woven under low tension, give the fabric a beautifully textured and uneven surface. This denim masterfully combines imperfection with perfection, resulting in a true work of art.
What sets this denim apart is its remarkable history; it’s a reproduction of the fabric used in 1950s jeans. Discovered at a vintage market, these worn-in jeans captivated us with their unique beauty. Inspired by this find, the artisans at Shinya Mills meticulously replicated the denim.
