Made in CanadaDescription
These jeans are crafted from a meticulously recreated 12.5 oz Japanese selvage denim by Kurabo Mills in Japan. This fabric faithfully mirrors a material from the gold rush era on the West Coast of the USA, nearly 120 years old. Kurabo's dedication to authenticity involved a thorough examination of the original weathered fabric to replicate its loom-fresh appearance. Recognizing that much of its character derived from the spinning technique and the color of the weft yarns, Kurabo preserved the irregular structure and thickness of the ring-spun yarns, characteristic of that era. The weft yarns, resembling unbleached cotton rather than pristine white, were carefully replicated. The warp underwent a 12-dip indigo dyeing process to achieve an authentic hue. Complementing this exquisite denim are distinctive tobacco seams.
We recommend wearing these jeans daily for at least 6 months before the initial wash, or even longer if you prefer. This commitment will result in a pair of jeans with unique, developed character. Although it may seem like a lengthy process, remember it's just a suggestion. With proper care, you'll be rewarded with a beautifully aged pair.
