    Description

Introducing our slim fit jeans with a straight leg, made from organic denim. This fabric is particularly meaningful to us—it's the comfort version of our very first selvage denim from the renowned Japanese mill, Kaihara. The original rigid denim left us amazed when we first encountered it in 2015, and its outstanding aging qualities have kept us captivated ever since. This updated version offers the same remarkable aging properties with the added comfort, making it perfect for a slim, comfortable fit.

The Dry Original Selvage features a deep indigo warp and an unbleached, vintage-inspired ecru weft, woven tightly to achieve a dry, crisp texture. While its raw form is stunning, its true charm unfolds with wear. Technically speaking, the warp is dyed twice—first with a dark sulphur dye, then with indigo. This results in a rich, muted indigo blue that pairs beautifully with our distinctive tobacco stitching. This dual-dyeing process is what gives the denim its unique aging characteristics. Known as greencast denim, it starts with a subtle greenish-blue hue that intensifies with wear. Over time and through multiple washes, the dark indigo fades into a redcast, revealing a vibrant clear blue. It’s a process that’s both intriguing and mesmerising!

We take immense pride in introducing the Shinjuku Dry Original Selvage—our heartfelt tribute to Kaihara's exceptional denim craftsmanship and indigo mastery, a piece we hold dear.

We recommend wearing them daily for at least six months before the first wash, or even longer if you can. While this may seem like a lengthy period, it's just a suggestion. With proper care and attention, you'll achieve an exceptional result.
